One down, eleven to go......

Today I managed to get one of the blocks quilted in my Kandinsky inspired quilt. I actually did 1 1/2 blocks and stopped when I did some quilting that I did not like and decided to take it out wnich of course set me back about 45 min.

I had envisioned starting this early today and having almost the whole thing finished by the end of the day but of course I got sidetracked and didn't actually start until after lunch. I tend to be a real analyzer and will put a piece up on my design wall and study what I want to do for quite a while (I really hate this about myself). By the time I finished this block, I decided that I really needed to go for a walk since it was such a nice day.

When I returned I started in on the second block and then gave up for the day when I had to take out the quilting I didn't like. Now I won't get back to this until next week......so much for getting something done in a hurry. I do like the way the block turned out though.........

I'm sure it will come in it's own time!

Just wanted to let you know there is a new feature on Quilt Qua - a weekly sponsored giveaway. Right now it is patterns by Fresh Poppy Design. Feel free to let your readers know about it, in addition to the Cakes and Gardens giveaway! If you would like to be a sponsor for upcoming giveaways let me know. Don't hate the studying process, that's my mantra. The slow deliberation of fabrics, colors, patterns, design and how they all relate to one another is, IMO, one of the most important and gratifying aspects of making art. I sometimes feel the need to rush myself, too, for fear of not finishing at all- and sometimes that happens. But sometimes other things happen that are more magical. The self-debate of how, what, where and why is one of the things I love most about this activity. :D

My favorite colors! I also like what approachable Art said. I agree with her as I often say that it is really about the process not the finished product. Sometimes we forget how much enjoyment there is in taking the time to live with the quilts as they evolve.
