I mentioned a couple of months ago that I am participating in a round robin with my fiber art group. Here is the round robin piece I received to work on this month. My initial thoughts were 'wow, someone worked really hard to make this cool doll' and 'what in the world am I going to do with this'.
This piece started with the pink background, next someone added the doll, then the enhanced chest was added by the next person. Next came the earrings and finally the netting from a wine bottle. I let this sit around for a couple of weeks where I could see it in passing. I finally came up with 3 different ideas and I wish I could have done all of them.
First I thought I would add a 3d vine and leaves woven through the mesh background. My next though was to add a caption bubble to the right of the dolls head and come up with some sort of funny phrase that the doll could be saying.
My final idea was to couch the yarn to the edges. It was hard to let go of my initial ideas but I though the yarn was a perfect fit and I remember from last year that none of the edges on the pieces were finished. It will be interesting to see this one when it is finished. It still has 7 people to go through. Wonder what is happening to my piece?

What a great idea and I love this doll she's so quirky. When do you get your original piece back ?......Lorna
I think I get my piece back in November..
What fun! How is the doll attached to the background? She seems to just be floating!
Hi Vivien, The doll is attached with Velcro so it can be removed while working on the quilt.
I think it will be interesting to see what happens when 7 more people have a chance to work on it!
